PLAINFIELD – For a brief moment, the “Battle @ The Rock” Memorial Day Baseball tournament hit a snag, but the quick acting Queen City Baseball League rectified the situation.
The 10U team from Carteret withdrew from the tournament, leaving the QCBL with a hole to fill.
“We had a great response when we initially announced the tournament,” League Director Anthony Davis Sr. said. “We had to turn some teams away because space was limited.”
All it took was a quick call to Westfield and the problem disappeared.
“When we called, they said they still had the date open and accepted our invite, so 'Game On',” Davis said.
The QCBL announced Sunday is a planned make-up day for any games lost due to inclement weather. The change of the 10U team meant a slight schedule change and the new schedule is posted below.
