DUNELLEN – The Queen City Giants defeated the Dunellen Rangers 15-4 in McCoy Park in Dunellen in the most recent of a series of games played between the Queen City Baseball League and the neighboring Dunellen Little League.
Jose Batista and Alex Mullen led the Giants’ offensive attack with identical stats.Each player collected two hits and scored a couple of runs.David Llerena, Luis Vargas, and Anthony Davis Jr. swiped two bases each as the Giants made the most of their base-running opportunities.
Anthony Buccino went 3-3 with two home runs and scored three runs while Kay Straub went 1-2 for the Rangers.
The games are played at the recently renovated McCoy Park in Dunellen after last seasons’ series took place at Rock Avenue in Plainfield.
Writers note: this is a great facility; the only improvement I can think of would be lights, for night games. -
